Every glaze we sell in our production line has been created in our pottery
and is food safe. All the pottery is stoneware which makes it very hard
and durable, perfect to use in the preparation, cooking, and serving of
food. The pots are designed to be used safely in the dishwasher, the oven,
and the microwave.
Every pottery has a blue and we are no exception. Anne's Blue, named for a customer of ours, is light variegated blue with a glossy finish. It is like faded denim with a shine. Jet Black is a popular glaze with customers. It is very shiny and well jet black. It compliments modern kitchen and living rooms nicely. Butter is a nice soft yellow colour that is toasted with brown flecks of ash from the kiln. These flecks melt into the glaze and show the pattern of the flame through the kiln. Holden is my favourite glaze as it compliments nicely the wood firing. I glaze the inside of a pot with Holden, it will become a shiny very light green, and I let the ash from the kiln glaze the outside during the firing. This results in an exterior surface that looks like it has been dusted with cinnamon. This is as durable as any other glazed surface and it is an effect rarely seen in today's potteries and much appreciated by my customers.
